Emu Park Carols by Candlelight
Sunday 9th December 2007.
Organizer Mr Stan Wenman has said he expects a huge crowd this year. As with the last year, local businesses have generously sponsored hundreds of candles to be handed out to the guests for the event. There will be no charge for the candles. There will also be hundreds of free glow bracelets given out to the children.
A traditional programme will be followed for the evening starting at 6:30PM with Music from the Rockhampton City Brass Band. Several readings, lots of community carolling and guest appearances from some of our many local talents will ensure a night to be remembered.
During the evening an appeal will be held. This year funds raised will go to benefit Anglicare, who support many persons in our local area.
Bring your chairs and very best singing voices to sing along to the carols with lyrics on the huge data screen. You may even wish to arrive early and have supper before the event. Many visitors have a fish and chip meal from one of the two local shops. A third and fourth are not far distant at Kinka and Causeway Lake
A special mention should be made for the assistance of VTE Computer Services and Bel Canto Singing Studio who provide equipment for the night. .
