SUMMARY:Lap The Map for Diabetes
DESCRIPTION:Our activity for World Diabetes day includes both exercise and 
 screening.\nThe screening test is a self-directed Risk Assessment tool (Au
 sdrisk) which the individual completes and adds up the score\, if the risk
  is high\, advice should be sought from your doctor.\n\n\n\nThe exercise t
 hat coincides with our market day\, involves a low level walk of 3 km\, st
 arting at the Lions market stall. Walking to Hill St.\, turn right and rig
 ht again before Pattison St.\, to follow the trail past the exercise machi
 nes (try if you wish) to Sleeman St. then returning via the same route.\n\
 nA water station will be provided in Lions Park\, with a rest stop to comp
 lete the screening tool. The distance traveled by each person will be logg
 ed to create a combined distance traveled. It is hoped to exceed Australia
 ’s circumference (25760kms) - hence the title “Lap the Map”. This wa
 lk showcases some features of Emu Park Lions. The markets\, the Lions Info
 rmation stall\, Lions Park\, and exercise machines on the gym trail. You m
 ay spot several Historic Trail Emus on the journey.\n\nBe on the lookout! 
 And remember\, the Historic Trail is a great (and Interesting) walk for an
 other day.
