LAP THE MAP FOR DIABETES

Type 2 Diabetes is one of the diseases on the rise in our society. It is more important than ever to be aware of who is at risk and how it can be managed or delayed. Many at risk people do not become aware until too late. As part of Lions Club activities, a walk and screening test is planned for World Diabetes Day. Check back for the next activity later this year.

Emu Park markets are held on the third Sunday of the month in Bell Park, Emu Park from 8AM until Noon.  Live music, great coffee and hamburgers. Over 100 stalls  selling local arts and crafts, fresh produce, home made cakes, jams and honey as well as new and second hand goods and books.   To inquire about having a stall at our markets call 0407 178 011 and leave a message.

Emu Park Lions have been supporting the Emu Park community since 1974.  We organize the Picnic Markets in Bell Park on the 3rd Sunday of every month.  Oktoberfest is in late October or perhaps early November depending on the band’s availability.

Festival of the Wind is generally in the Easter school holidays but can be varied depending on tides.

Every year we raise up to $70,000 for local community groups and charities.  Membership of Lions is open to all members of the community in good standing.  We meet at the Lion’s Youth Shack, Hill Street at the  Fisherman’s Beach end on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7pm.  Visitors are most welcome.
